Keloid Problem and Treatment

Keloids are extra scar tissue growth larger than original wound & continue grow larger & larger

Keloids scar may cause itching but don't harm.

Its more often Cosmetic concern than a health one.

Most common location - Ear , shoulder , chest etc

Treatment options include - 1 . Steroids injection (intralesional)

                                                     2. Pressure Garment

                                                     3 . Silicon sheet / gel 

                                                     4. Lasers 

                                                      5. Surgery

    Every treatment modality have chances of recurrence .

Surgery should only be considered for cosmetic reasons & as last resort keeping in mind of chances of recurrence.
